Reading Connections Family Reading Program
Through May 16 | Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10am-1pm
Cost: Free!
Registration Deadline: March 21
Parents and caregivers who have a child enrolled in Pre-K or Kindergarten, or with a child younger than 5, can attend this program. Must have at least one child 5 years or younger to join.
Program Offerings
- Adult Literacy Instruction/Parent Education
- English language/literacy skills development, especially for parents/caregivers whose home language is not English
- Strategies for engaging in active reading at home
- Child Literacy Instruction
- Daytime: Infants/toddlers, preschoolers
- Evening: Infants/toddlers, preschoolers, K-5
- Parent and Child Together (PACT) Sessions
- Free community meal (lunch or dinner) at each program session
- 10 free culturally diverse children's books for families to add to their home libraries
- $100 check to families who complete at least 50 hours
Join us for a FREE family reading program at the Hayes-Taylor Y! This program is a great opportunity for families to develop their literacy skills together and for parents and caregivers to learn strategies to support their child's education.
