At the Y, we believe swimming is a life skill. Swimming at the Y helps people thrive—in and out of the water. Swim lessons provide kids and teens with the opportunity to set goals and achieve success, learn water safety and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming and more, the YMCA of Greensboro provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Swim Lessons

Y swim lessons are designed for all ages and abilities, starting at 6 months, because everyone deserves to learn this essential life skill. With a focus on water safety and skill development, the YMCA Swim Lesson program is effective at helping children and adults learn to swim and, most importantly, be safe around water.

Knowing how to be safe around water is one of the most important life skills we can teach our children. It gives them confidence. And it can save their lives.
