For more than 130 years, the Y has served as a nonprofit leader and partner in community health, delivering evidence-based health programs and interventions that benefit vulnerable populations and those managing the life-altering effects of chronic disease. 

What to Expect/How You Can Help During the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Most importantly, if you are not feeling well or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, please stay home! Help us keep our Y communities safe and healthy.
  • Effective Friday, August 13th 2021 at 5pm, masks are required for all individuals (regardless of vaccination status).
  • Please review our member expectations by clicking here.
  • Members will be asked to sign an updated waiver before participating in any Y offerings. Waivers can be found here. Once you have completed this waiver, you do not need to complete it again.
  • To ensure the utmost safety of our members, we will limit use to NC YMCA members.
  • All team members, members and vendors who are unwilling to comply with the Y’s COVID transmission prevention measures will be asked to leave.

Eden YMCA

Fat Burn Boot Camp
With Gina and Lasaro

When: Beginning August 7th, Saturdays from 7:45am - 8:45am
Location: Outdoors at the Eden YMCA
Cost: $40 Members, $60 Potential Members

If you're looking to feel more motivated and energetic, the Y has you covered! Join us for four intense Saturday morning workouts from August 7th to 28th. Our instructors will help you push your limits, increasing your strength, agility and stamina. You'll leave each session of this high-intensity aerobic interval training feeling empowered, accomplished and challenged!

Exercise for Your Soul

Annual Elf Training

Reindeer Running Camp
Training for the finish line!

Fall Fit AMRAP Bootcamp

Walk to the Mountains

Go the distance!

Dates: October 4th-November 28th, 2021; A minimum of 30 participants are required by September 30th to run the program.
Cost: $10, Members ONLY.
There will be an additional $5 added after September 15th.

Prize winners will be announced the week of November 29th.

Can you walk to the mountains in just 8 weeks? Walk to the Mountains is a challenge to get you moving and visiting the Reidsville Y! The distance between Boone and Reidsville is approximately 130 miles, and each visit to the Y earns you "miles walked." Participants who successfully walk 130 miles will be entered into a drawing for 2 prizes, with a weekend trip in the mountains as one of them!

Each visit to the Reidsville Y is 5 miles toward a total of 130 mountain miles over 8 weeks. Only one visit to the Reidsville YMCA per day will qualify. Mountain weekend dates are TBA.

Spears YMCA

Pelvic Floor Yoga Workshop

Date: Sundays; November 7, 14, 21
Time: 3:30pm-4:30pm in the Yoga Studio
Price: $40 Member, $50 Non-Member
There will be a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 12 participants.

Do any of these statements sound familiar? “I feel like I have to suddenly rush to the bathroom or else I'm not going to make it." "I have back pain that just can't be explained by my orthopedist or chiropractor." If so, please join Alison for a 3-week pelvic floor yoga series.

In this 3-week series, you'll learn the anatomy of the pelvic floor, learn how to effectively contract and relax this area, and engage in yoga poses to help support this part of your body. You will leave with a better understanding of your pelvic floor and some solutions to common problems. Register online or at the front desk!

About Alison: Alison Presley, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, is a student of occupational therapy at Winston Salem State University with a particular interest in training pelvic floor health and education. She has been teaching yoga for 18 years and 15 of those have been right here at the Spears Family YMCA.

 

 

Stoney Creek YMCA

Community Exercise Series

The Stoney Creek YMCA is pairing up with the Town of Gibsonville to bring FREE exercise classes to the community! During the month of November, we are offering the following classes (click on the dates to register):

Class Descriptions:

  • Active Older Adults: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activity in daily living.
  • Zumba: This class uses effective body sculpting movements mixed with easy to follow, fun dance steps, inspired by upbeat Latin music and dance steps.
