More Than a Weight Loss Journey

For Lora Williamson, personal training at the YMCA has become about much more than reaching a number on the scale. After celebrating five years of personal training, she has transformed her health, rebuilt her strength, and gained the confidence to do things she once struggled with. With the support and accountability of her trainer, Meredith, Lora has lost 150 pounds, improved her A1C, normalized her blood pressure, and much more. Following two knee replacements, personal training and physical therapy also helped her regain mobility and strength, allowing her to return to activities she loves.

Today, Lora trains twice a week and continues to find new ways to challenge herself. From increasing her strength on Wellness Center equipment to having the energy and mobility to enjoy everyday life, her progress reflects years of dedication and support. She credits Meredith with making a lasting difference, pushing her beyond what she might attempt on her own and helping her recognize what she is capable of accomplishing. Lora encourages others to consider personal training not just as a way to lose weight, but as an investment in their overall health, strength, and well-being.
