Leadership Greensboro Partnership Helps Shape the Future of YMCA Camp Weaver

Great partnerships create lasting impact, and YMCA Camp Weaver recently experienced that firsthand through the Leadership Greensboro Class of 2026 Action Learning Projects.

As one of 10 local nonprofit organizations selected to participate, Camp Weaver partnered with a team of Leadership Greensboro participants who were challenged to develop a strategic solution for a real-world opportunity. Their focus was helping Camp Weaver strengthen its groups and rentals business during the nine months outside of the traditional summer camp season.

After months of collaboration, research and planning, the team's final presentation earned top honors among all participating projects. Their winning presentation not only secured a $500 donation to YMCA Camp Weaver, generously provided by Lomax Construction, but also delivered a thoughtful, high-level growth strategy that Camp Weaver has already begun putting into action.

"This project gave us valuable insight into how we can expand our impact throughout the year," said Gareth Clews, Executive Director of YMCA Camp Weaver. "The team's ideas were practical, innovative and aligned with our vision for the future. We're grateful for their dedication and excited to begin implementing many of their recommendations."
