Hayes-Taylor After School Drive
Accepting donations December 20, 12-2 p.m. in the Hayes-Taylor Memorial YMCA Childcare Lobby
Join us in supporting youth in the Hayes-Taylor Memorial YMCA After School Program by donating new or gently used books, games, toys, and furniture. Your donation helps create a space where local children can learn, explore, and thrive after school. Whether it’s a book that sparks imagination, a science kit that unlocks curiosity, or a cozy chair that becomes a reading nook, every item makes a difference. Drop-off will be in the Childcare lobby.

Donation List
Children’s Books (Ages 7–12)
- Picture books
- Chapter books
- Culturally inclusive stories
- Non-fiction books about animals, space, history, STEM
Science Exploration Tools and Toys
- Magnifying glasses
- Beginner microscopes or slide kits
- Simple science kits or chemistry sets
- Nature exploration sets (insect viewers, rock kits)
Games (Ages 7–12)
- Board games like Uno, Connect 4, Sorry!, Guess Who?
- Strategy or logic games like Rush Hour or Qwirkle
- Word and math games (Bananagrams, Sum Swamp)
Toys
- Toy cars, trucks, trains
- Building sets (LEGO, magnetic tiles, K’NEX)
- Plush Animals
- Clean, gently used or new stuffed animals
- Small to medium sizes preferred
Furniture (Gently Used)
- Single-seat chairs (kid or adult-sized)
- Bean bags or child-sized reading chairs
- Floor lamps in safe working condition
- Small rugs or floor cushions
