Hayes-Taylor's very own Larry Burnett was featured in an article by News & Record!

Lt. Col. Larry Burnett grew up in the small eastern North Carolina town of Dunn. But Greensboro — and N.C. A&T — were home.

He went to A&T on an ROTC scholarship in the late 1970s. In 1999, he came back to the university as a professor of military studies, where he spent the final six years of his military career.

And in between, Burnett traveled the world, from South Korea to the Pentagon, in service to his country. Today, he serves as executive director of the Hayes-Taylor YMCA in Greensboro, and he says his military leadership experience has been a big help in his current job.

“The things I learned in the Army about mission accomplishment and taking care of families are the same things I use here at the YMCA,” he said.
