The Y's Impact on Our Community
YMCA of Greensboro is committed to helping all individuals have the tools they need to live a happy, healthy life. Our work thus far has proven that lasting personal and social change comes when we all work together, and we are grateful to work side-by-side with our incredible members, staff, volunteers and donors to make sure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. All individuals - regardless of age, income, race, religion or circumstance - deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. There’s no better place to do that than the Y.
Donors and volunteers are instrumental in helping us create opportunities for all individuals in our community, regardless of race, religion, background or financial ability. Check out some impactful stories from our Y family.
Featured Story of the Month
"We come a few times a week to swim and spend time as a family. I have seen swimming give my middle daughter confidence and identity. Her goal is to join the swim team! Thank you to the Y for providing opportunities to my girls that I couldn’t give them alone." -YMCA Mom
Our Strategic Plan
Our Y’s mission is our reason for being, and our Y’s vision is our determined hope for the future. More than 125 years of innovative programs and delivering transformative responses to urgent social challenges has produced and reinforced a set of basic beliefs about how and why our YMCA effects meaningful, enduring change. Our Strategic Priorities are grounded in these beliefs.
The YMCA of Greensboro serves the communities of Greensboro, Jamestown, Whitsett, Pleasant Garden and all of Rockingham County.
