The YMCA of Greensboro is a charitable, not-for-profit, health and human services organization committed to helping people reach their full potential in mind, body and spirit.

YMCAs are here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. The YMCA is community-based and believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone. We are committed to ensuring that every community member has access to our Ys.

We strive to serve the entire community by providing financial assistance, which is determined by individual applicant needs. This program is possible thanks to the many generous donors who support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign —100% of donations made to the Y help support kids, adults and families in our communities.

Financial assistance is granted based on the need demonstrated by household income and/or extenuating circumstances and is on a sliding scale.

Financial Assistance can be applied to programs or services at the Y. This includes:

  • YMCA membership
  • Afterschool
  • Day and Overnight Summer Camp
  • Personal Training
  • Preschool
  • Swim Lessons
  • Teen Programs
  • Wellness Programs
  • Youth Sports
  • And more!

Open Doors Financial Assistance Program

Deeply rooted in our community, it is the mission of the YMCA to make our programs and membership affordable for all. Programs and Membership to the Y are available to all regardless of age, income, ability, race or religion. Based on available resources and sliding scale eligibility, the Y will not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay full fees. Our Financial Assistance Program provides assistance based on need through an easy application process. Much of the financial assistance dollars shared are made possible through the generosity of those who contribute to our Annual Campaign

To apply for financial assistance, please fill out the online application or download the application (español) and provide the supporting financial documents (español) to the YMCA location you would like to participate at or join. The YMCA will process it and contact you about your rate. Please make sure to use the checklist (español) to ensure the quickest possible evaluation of your application.
