Our Wellness Center is fully equipped with a wide variety of cardio and strength training equipment. Need help getting started? Orientations are free to members ages 14 and over.
During orientation, you will be shown how to operate the cardiovascular and strength training equipment. We will develop a personalized workout plan to help you reach your goals.
All youth 14 and 15 years of age are required to complete a teen certification course prior to being allowed to have full Wellness Center privileges.

Small Group Training
Teen Certification is a 45-60 minute class that will allow teens, ages 14-15, to use the Wellness Center without having a parent or guardian present. Teens will learn how to use strength and cardio equipment, proper strength training form, and Wellness Center Rules and Policies. Classes will be offered at various times throughout the month.

Head into 2018 with a plan in place to lose weight, change habits and become a healthier YOU! Meet once a week as a group for 8 weeks with a wellness coach who will provide guidance on healthy eating, exercise and lifestyle behaviors. Each session includes a private weigh-in to keep you accountable, nutrition and activity challenges, and education about various healthy living concepts to help you with your journey.
Early Bird Registration: January 1st-5th Cost: $89
Regular Registration: January 6th-20th Cost: $99

The goals of the Lighten Up! program are to:
- Equip you with the tools to make healthy choices regarding your nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits
- Provide you with accountability to your coach for your weight and nutrition
- Introduce you to numerous types of exercise to help you find a match for your personality and preferences
Incentives and Prizes
You will earn points for attending the weekly sessions, weighing in, coming to the Y in between sessions for exercise, and attending special events as described by your coach. The winners will be determined by a combination
of percent of body weight lost plus the points received.
The Grand Prize winner for the YMCA of Greensboro association will be awarded a one-year complimentary adult membership to the YMCA of Greensboro. Runners up will receive membership prizes and other goodies donated by local vendors. Everyone who comes consistently will earn some Y swag to use throughout the program.
